Just a few kilometres from the centre of Bayramiç, the picturesque Bayramiç Barajı sits quietly in the fertile valley carved by the Karamenderes River. As you leave Bayramiç heading towards the beautiful mountain area of Ayazma, the reservoir soon appears on the left-hand side of the road, its calm waters stretching across the valley beneath the forested slopes of the Kaz Dağları. The dam plays an important role in the region, providing irrigation water that supports the rich agricultural land for which Bayramiç is well known.
From Tavaklı, the dam lies roughly 55–60 kilometres away, depending on the route taken, making it an easy inland drive from the Aegean coast. Visitors travelling from Tavaklı towards Bayramiç will reach the town first, and shortly after leaving the centre on the road to Ayazma they will spot the reservoir just a few minutes outside town. Surrounded by orchards, farmland and mountain scenery, Bayramiç Barajı adds a peaceful natural backdrop to the journey toward the cooler forests and springs higher up in the Kaz Dağları.
