Everyone loves a good market, and if you are staying in the village you will quickly notice the gentle rhythm of local life shaped by fresh produce and travelling vendors. From time to time—particularly in the evenings—you’ll see various vehicles arriving and departing. It’s common to hear a tannoy from a passing van announcing the arrival of fresh fruit and vegetables, or locally caught fish. This tradition takes place throughout both the summer and winter months, ensuring the village receives regular deliveries of seasonal, locally sourced produce.
Along the coast road, you’ll find several fruit and vegetable shops stocked with fresh, regional goods—tomatoes, peppers, courgettes, cherries, figs, herbs and whatever else the surrounding farmland yields at that time of year. These small shops are an excellent place to sample the area’s rich agricultural offerings.
The nearby village of Kösedere hosts a small weekly market every Saturday, where a handful of stalls sell fresh fruit and vegetables, along with a clothing stand and a hardware stall. Though modest in size, it offers a pleasant and convenient option for picking up essentials while enjoying a local market atmosphere.
On Thursdays, there is a larger covered market in Geyikli, with many more stalls providing a wide selection of fresh produce. Here you can also find locally made cheese, olives, pulses, bakery items, and various regional products—ideal for stocking up on high-quality ingredients.
The busiest and most extensive market in the area, however, takes place every Monday in the town of Ezine. Held inside a large covered market hall, it offers an impressive range of food stalls, brimming with vibrant seasonal produce, dairy items, pickles, herbs, and handmade goods. At the rear of the market, you’ll also find stalls selling clothing, textiles, hardware, household necessities and a variety of other items. It’s a lively, colourful place and a highlight for anyone who enjoys discovering genuine local produce.
