Refuse-Recycling

Turkey is a beautiful country, blessed with natural landscapes and sunny skies, and living in a rural area is both healthy and refreshing. The Kaz Dağ mountains on our doorstep have some of the cleanest air and highest oxygen levels in the world. What lets us down, however, is the amount of refuse found along our lanes and roadsides. Incorrect disposal of waste can contribute to forest fires, cause harm to livestock, and even pose a hazard to humans.

If you own a tourist establishment and the area around your hotel or restaurant is littered with rubbish, this will not go unnoticed by your customers or by tourists visiting the area. Although there are ongoing efforts to clean up and recycle waste, we must all do what we can to help keep the countryside clean and free from litter. Smashed bottles in roadside water channels or plastic items thrown from vehicles create an unpleasant sight, and visitors from the cities are often the first to point this out.

On a positive note, steps have been taken to collect recyclable materials, and collection bins have been placed at the locations detailed below.

Refuse collections for both the village and Tavaklı İskelesi take place every Thursday and large grey metal bins are placed around the village for everyone’s convenience.

Recycling bins and cages have been placed in Tavaklı village and Tavaklı İskelesi, in front of the Agora Holiday Stop.

With the hope that we all take responsibility for keeping our environment clean and contributing to the “zero waste” recycling objectives…
